Florida, Tampa Bay Real Estate Back On Track..!!

While the Tampa Bay Realty market was shaken up, burned, blistered and bruised, agents have now lifted themselves off the mat and are continuously busy in making sales. More homes are being sold in the Tampa Bay realty, as prices remain stubbornly low, new housing figures released recently.

Recently updated figures from Florida Realtors show that 2,560 existing single-family homes were sold in the Tampa, Petersburg-Clearwater area in just August, 2011, which is up 15 percent from August 2010, when 2,223 homes were sold locally.

So, The Tampa Bay Realty has been keeping pace with Florida overall, which also experienced a 15 percent escalation in existing single-family home sales. Sales of existing condominiums also rose 14 percent in August over the same month last year. The only point is that the prices that local homes are fetching right now show a mixed picture, though Tampa real estate prices have risen in recent months, but they're still low when compared to a year ago.

Consider for example, Florida Realtors figures show that the median selling price of a home in the Tampa Bay area was $130,000 in August 2011. That's fair as compared to January, when the median selling price locally was $110,000. However, it's still 8 percent down than the median selling price that prevailed an year ago, which was $140,600.
