Recently updated figures from Florida Realtors show that 2,560 existing single-family homes were sold in the Tampa, Petersburg-Clearwater area in just August, 2011, which is up 15 percent from August 2010, when 2,223 homes were sold locally.

Sales of existing condominiums also rose 14 percent in August over the same month last year.
