Sales of existing condominiums also rose 14 percent in August over the same month last year. The only point is that the prices that local homes are fetching right now show a mixed picture, though Tampa real estate prices have risen in recent months, but they're still low when compared to a year ago.

That's fair as compared to January, when the median selling price locally was $110,000.
